Teaser Tuesday

I forgot to do this earlier so better late than never.

This is from my next release, The Enchanted. I've only given teaser with Mara and Theo so I think it's time to introduce you to another character. Meet Winston!

The guy had an almost elfish face with blonde-brown hair sticking up wildly around his head. Pale scruff lined his cheeks. His teeth were endearingly crooked which reminded me of my own gaped front teeth. He was a few inches taller than me. Probably five foot ten. His eyes were a warm brown and looking intensely at me waiting for- oh right.
“I’m Mara,” I said. “I’m new.”
“The name’s Winston,” he said. “Now Mara, luv,” he leaned against the wall across from me. “Why are you running through the boy’s dormitories? Naughty, naughty,” he waggled his eyebrows.

  1. Hi Micalea Smeltzer!

I normally never write or comment the authors of books I’ve read or the book itself, this is actually the first time (there was this time I wrote comment on a site for TVD but that was not to the writers or the actors from the show, so that doesn’t really count, I think, and I’m ranting, sorry!), not because I’m not thankful or super happy that they write but more because I always think you will never read them or there are already so many great comments that I feel mine would be waste. So this is pretty scary for me but I really had to write to you because I wanted you to know (and you have probably heard this a million times) how amazing you and your books are! Your books are so funny, sad (in a really good way), romantic, emotional and real with a lot of fantasy mixed up into it, it’s amazing! I cried , I laughed, sometimes I went a little crazy and now and then I did little happy dances, just amazing! And I love that you put music references in your books it gives the reader a better visual and idea of the mood and the scene!
I haven’t read them all, unfortunately but I’m really working on it! (BTW can’t wait for Enchanted!)
But I wanted you to know that you are really an inspiration for me too, I’m a 19 year old girl from the Netherlands (A really small country in Europe) who absolutely loves books and almost reads more than she breaths (LOL), who you’ve reached and inspired with your writing! I stumbled across your book on Goodreads, Outsider, and was hooked! And after I read it in record time I checked you out to see if there was a sequel coming out soon and if you wrote any other books! But I also wanted to know who wrote such an amazing book and when I found out you are only 19 with so many books published, so many GREAT books published I was shocked and awed that you are such an amazing and successful writer at your age! For me you are like a epitome of you can do whatever you want to and follow your dreams. And in that time when I read Outsider I really needed that, you gave me hope and comfort knowing I wasn’t crazy for believing that you can do whatever you want and that it will be alright to do so.

I really wanted you to know this and say thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing your stories with the world and inspire the people on it! ;)

    Sincerely,
Nine (Yeah that’s really my name, in the Netherlands it doesn’t mean the number 9 it’s just a name and you pronounce it differently. LOL!)
)And I have no idea why i´m telling you this LMAO!'

    1. Wow, thank you for such kind words. It means so much to me to be an inspiration. I look at myself as just someone that loves to write but it's even better when people are so affected, so inspired, by your words. I truly believe that if you have a passion for something then you can make it happen. But you have to work hard for it and more importantly, believe in yourself.
I want you to know that I will always reply back, so never hesitate to leave a comment or even email me. (My email can be found under the CONTACT ME tab) And I know all about reading more than you breathe. :) I have... lets just say A LOT of books. When I'm not writing, I've always got a book in my hand. Even when we leave to run errands I have a book in my purse, just in case I get bored and want to read. LOL. My name's weird too. It looks like it's pronounced Makayla but it's really pronounced, Muh-call-e-uh. My mom made it up and yet my brothers have some of the most normal names on the planet. I guess she knew I was going to be special. LOL. Thank you again for your kind words. It truly means the world to me. :)

    2. Do not mention it, you deserve those words!
That’s exactly the reason why I wrote because I wanted you to know how much I admire you and your work.
And thank you, I will! (Comment or email)
LOL Yeah I do too. But instead of a book I always have my IPad or even my IPhone with me, I read a lot of books on kindle or from iTunes because a lot of books aren’t out yet or never will be available in stores here.
I even tried to walk a few times while reading but that doesn’t really work... I walked into people, I tripped and once I almost got run over by traffic so I try not to do that anymore. LOL.
I like your name! it’s pretty! My mom named me after someone she really didn’t like (hint?) but she really liked the name or that’s what she still to this day keeps telling me. I’m not so sure that’s the truth though! No I'm just kidding! :P
Thank you so much for replying, it’s really awesome to hear from you! 

    3. My kindle is loaded with books but I have a soft spot for actually being able to hold a book. I'm sure my UPS man wonders what is inside all the boxes he delivers. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't get my hands on a paperback.
No more walking and reading at the same time! You're worse than me!

    4. I hear ya! I love the smell of new books, especially when you open them for the first time, is that weird? LOL.
But a Girl gotta do what a Girl gotta do; because it's expensive to let it ship abroad and you also have to pay all these extra things like: Clearance charges (the cost of the postal or courier company gets for doing the declaration to Customs)and any taxes payable (customs duties, VAT and excise).
They do that in order to protect the country against cheaper products from abroad, which in a way I understand with the economy right now but it makes it really hard and expensive for me to buy them in paperback, I just don’t have enough money to keep up with my ‘’addiction’’. So I buy them on kindle or itunes and if I really really really like the book (like yours) I’m saving to buy them in paperback, just so I can hold it in my hand and put it in my room and look at it with a really smug expression on my face!

You should tell the UPS man you have a really weird collecting addiction or something like that, could be fun! My niece always sends me boxes with weird names, Once the deliveryman asked me: Are you fun bags francine? Yes that really happened, I was so embarrassed.
And no I won’t walk and read at the same time, I promise!
And I’m sorry if I’m bothering you or keeping you from work, first I didn’t comment and now I can’t stop! :P

    5. I love the smell of new books, too. :)
I can tell you right now, the paperbacks of Outsider and Insider are really pretty! I'm so happy with the new covers. If you do end up getting paperbacks I think you'll love them. But, of course, I'm biased. LOL. :)
You're not bothering me at all!

    6. Yeah I saw them! They are soooo pretty!
They will look good in my room too! :D
So yes I am going to buy them! But that's probably going to take some time, I am going to a concert on Sunday! Yay! But That means I don’t have a lot of money right now :(
So now I'm in Pursuit of Pesos AKA saving! 
And good! I don't want you to keep from finishing Enchanted! LOL.
Everyone will hate me and I will hate myself too! How's that going? Or are you already working on something new? Because you work really fast, which is so awesome!

    7. Oooh, a concert, have fun! I haven't been to a concert in years! I haven't finish The Enchanted yet. I would've had it done but I'm re-reading it right now to get back in the story since I stopped in the middle of writing it to start/finish Insider. Hopefully after I reread it I can finish it pretty quick. I already have 50,000 words so once I start writing again, I can have it done in two weeks.
