Another Peek

First off, I want to say that Outsider currently has 21 reviews on amazon.com! Thank you guys so much! You're awesome! If I reach 50 I'll release the 2nd chapter of Insider! Come on, I know you can do it! Also, 4 more followers on my blog and the giveaway is a deal! (And the more followers I get on here, facebook, and twitter, the more often I'll do giveaways!)

Here's a peek:

“Ugh,” Bryce held his hand out. “I just don’t want to be witness to any moments between you two. Excuse me while I throw up a bit in my mouth.”
Caeden smacked his younger brother on the back of the head.
“That hurt,” Bryce said and rubbed his head.
“Good,” Caeden said.

Peek

Outsider has 20 reviews on Amazon! 30 more and I'll release the 2nd chapter! Also, I need 5 more followers on my blog to do the giveaway! So close!

Alright, here's the peek, I'm off to my writing cave!

I watched Caeden work, his muscles flexing, and sweat dotting his forehead. This had to be the best class ever. I mean, I got to watch Caeden for a whole hour and thirty minutes, and not do anything. Plus, I was getting an A. Why had I ever been worried about this class?
Caeden flicked a piece of hair out of his eye and smiled up at me. “What are you watching?”
“You,” I said.
“Me?”
“Who else would I be watching?”
“I don’t know,” he shrugged and began aligning pieces. He picked up the nail gun and quickly assembled the cabinet. The rest of the class was still cutting pieces.
“Looks like I’ve found myself a handy man,” I smiled.
“Oh yeah,” he grinned, “I’m as handy as they come.”
“I can see it now,” I fantasized, “leaky faucets, fixing lights, painting walls.”
Caeden’s laugh filled the woodshop classroom. “And let me guess, you’re not going to help me, you’ll just watch.”
“It’s what I do best,” I laughed.
Caeden stood the cabinet upright and grabbed some trim pieces for detailing. “That’s okay, at least I’ll have something pretty to look at,” he winked.
“And I’ll always be there to hand you tools,” I said.
“Just not the power ones,” he grinned crookedly.

Random Outsider Links/ Peek of Insider

With school about to start for some of you I thought I'd give you the link to Sophie's backpack. (Her type of backpack isn't mentioned in Outsider but it is mentioned in Insider) I've had one of these backpacks and I really liked it. They only had like... four colors when I was in school so I had the Amethyst/Silver one. http://store.americanapparel.net/rsanc501.html?cid=49-752&c=Sorbet_Natural_Teal

Here's a pic of Sophie's backpack: (And this is the color combo she has) Even though I'm not in school anymore I want one. *pouts*

Here's a link to Sophie's duffel bag:http://store.americanapparel.net/rsalp540.html?cid=49-751
(You may remember it from an Insider peek I gave)

Some of you may have already seen this but this is what Caeden's room looks like:

These pictures and links can also be found if you clickity click click on the Outsider Series tab over there --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->>>>>

Here's a peek:

Mr. Collins, the woodshop teacher, was eager to start a new project today.
Pushing his black-framed glasses up his nose, he said, “Today, we’re going to start building cabinets. I’ve run out of storage areas and I thought this would be a good learning experience for you. You should see a sheet in front of you that shows that dimensions that I need. You can either make a plain cabinet or you can add detailing for extra credit. And Sophie?” He looked at me.
“Yes?” I asked.
“Please, I’m begging you, stay away from the power tools."

Update

I'm sleepy...

^^^^ Probably not a good way to start a post, who knows what I may say^^^^

But I just wanted to tell you guys where I'm at with Insider. I have 33,048 words. And I'm freaking out because I have no idea how I'll have it done on time and I really don't want to push the release date back. I know you guys want this book so I'm working my butt off. Hopefully August will go smoother than July and I'll be fine.

In random news: My new computer didn't recognize Caeden's name. *hangs head* So I click the button to add it to the dictionary and happen to look at the recommendations for corrections. I expect to see, Caden, Caiden, Kaden, or Kaiden. No. Not one of these was recommended. Instead the first recommendation  was Camden. Then the next one was Cameron. CAMERON. I was like, "Really?" *hits head against desk* I actually ended up laughing about it. I mean, I did decide to spell Caeden differently from the way it's normally spelled, so I guess I was asking for it.

Reminders: I'm still at 40 followers on my blog. If I get 50 followers here by the time Insider releases then I will do a BIG giveaway! The winner will receive a signed copy of Outsider and Insider, signed Outsider and Insider bookmarks (along with signed Fallen, Forbidden, and Forever bookmarks) signed pics of Sophie and Caeden (signed by Sophie, Caeden, and me), a signed Outsider poster (signed by Sophie, Caeden, and me), and a Lucinda's hat like the characters in the book wear. The more followers I get here, twitter, and facebook, the more often I'll do giveaways. (They won't all be quite as big as this one, I'll probably only do BIG giveaways when a new book comes out) Also, you can certainly follow by email if you don't have a blogger account. You can do that somewhere over there ---------------->
BUT if you follow by email it doesn't tell me so you'll have to email me at msmeltzer9793@gmail.com to let me know.

Also, if I get 50 reviews for Outsider on amazon.com I will release the 2nd chapter of Insider!!!

And here's a peek:

I looked around in a panic for Bentley’s truck but it was absent. I did see Logan’s Toyota Tundra and I sprinted towards it.
“Whoa,” Logan said when I crashed into him. “Sophie? Is everything okay?” Concern flooded his pale green eyes, so much like his sisters. I was a bit surprised by his reaction. I was used to only surliness from him.
I pointed back towards the parking lot. “Caeden is going after Travis. You have to stop him. He won’t listen to me.”
Before I was finished speaking Logan was across the parking lot.
Caeden was on top of Travis and pummeling his face with his fist.
Lord have mercy I thought this kind of stuff only happened in movies.

Swag

I just ordered some awesome swag for the Outsider/Insider giveaway! I love it and I hope you guys do too! But... I won't do the giveaway if I don't get 50 followers!!! I have 40 right now so I know you can do it! (You have until I release Insider to reach the 50) 10 more! That's not bad at all! You can either follow through blogger or by email. If you follow by email let me know at msmeltzer9793@gmail.com because I have no way to know how many email followers I have. Also, in case you forgot, if I get 50 reviews for Outsider on amazon.com I will release the 2nd chapter of Insider (Book 2)!!!!

Boom!

So my computer decided to be a jerkface and go out on me Monday morning. I'd been saying I was going to get a new one, but then decided to wait. As soon as I decided to wait, my computer decided to go rainbow. Yes, rainbow. After it went rainbow it would then go blue and show me a bunch of different error codes. The man who rents my aunt and uncle's basement works with computers and he told me that HP's are noted for "going rainbow" so I don't feel so crazy anymore. (Every time I told someone that my computer went rainbow they looked at me like I was crazy) (I am not, haha) It was doing this randomly for about a month. But this past weekend and Monday it started doing it every time I got on the computer. That means I couldn't write. So, I got a new computer and let me tell you, I love it. If I could marry it, I would. *insert sing song voice* It's woooooonderful! Since I have a protection plan on my old one I'm going to send it off and get it fixed. Then I'll have a backup. ;)

So between watching my aunt's dog and my computer I've written very little of Insider. :(
My other aunt is coming in from Chicago on the 30th and she's to be here for a week. Hopefully I'll still be able to write. I'm so nervous about having Insider done on time *bites nails* I feel like every interruption under the sun has happened to me this month. But I'm going to try my hardest to have it done on time. *chants, "I can do it!"*

Another Insider Peek

I'll do an update on my progress soon! But for now, there's this:

I read over the directions for the Spanish essay once more.
Write a three page paper, in Spanish, on your overall high school experience. “Sophie?” said Caeden. I studiously ignored him. Talk about classes you enjoyed/didn’t enjoy, teachers, friends, extra-curricular activities, and anything else school related. “Soph?” poke. Also talk about your plans after high school. Work? College? Dreams? Goals? Ambitions? “Sophie,” he said again and pushed me hard enough to knock me out of my seat and onto the floor. Dang shifter reflexes. Weren’t they supposed to keep this kind of thing from happening?
“Caeden!” I hissed under my breath.
“Oopsy daisy,” he blushed.
I picked myself up and brushed dust off of Caeden’s shirt and my shorts. Ugh, gross. That dust had probably been on the floor for twenty years.
Straightening my disheveled appearance I said to Caeden, “What was so flippin’ important that you had to push me out of my chair? I was trying to work on an essay.”
“Flippin’?” he quirked a brow.
“Yes, flippin’,” I said and slid back into my seat. “Now what was it?” I asked, picking up my pencil. I tapped the eraser against the desk.
He pointed to the power point and I rolled my gaze towards to it. “Chess club? Why should I be concerned about chess club?”

Oh Brother

Hi ya'll!

Just got back from taking my aunt's dog home and going to dinner with the family!
This is a pic of my aunt's dog. Her name is Sadie and she's a chocolate English Cocker Spaniel.
Moving on... My sweet little brother got shingles! Shingles! He's only 13! I've felt so bad for him! It just breaks my heart to see someone hurting like that! But thankfully he's feeling much better now. But the other day I got a text message from him that said, "I wish you'd come over for a little bit." I was like, "Awww." So I called him and asked him if he wanted anything. I ended up having to go to Taco Bell and Wendy's. But I wanted him to have what he wanted so I didn't mind. Although I did tell him, "I don't go to Taco Bell for just anyone." I don't know why but that place freaks me out. It's not necessarily the place but the location. It's really busy and I'm scared to death I'm going to get hit. But once I got there and gave him his food he showed me this picture that he had drawn out of boredom. I thought it was awesome so I asked if I could have it and he said yes! I plan to frame it and put it beside my desk.

Here's a pic of my brother, Hunter, this is from 2006 (I don't have any current pictures of him) but you get the idea. His hair is a lot darker now.

And here's a really short peek but at least it's a peek! ;)

I turned to Caeden. “Holy hell, what happened while we were gone? Is it mating season for wolves?”

Easy

I absolutely loved Easy by Tammara Webber! I read it when it first came out at the end of May and have not stopped thinking about it since. I originally read it on my kindle and loved it so much I decided to order a paperback copy. I had heard Tammara say that she was going to sell autographed copies on her blog. So I decided to patiently (okay, not so patiently) wait for it to become available. I can't gush enough about this book. Lucas is... wonderful. I mean he's the perfect package. He's got the bad boy vibe but he's a total smarty pants too. I also really liked Jacqueline as the main character. I've heard some people say that they didn't like her but I did. I thought Jacqueline was easy (no pun intended) to connect with. I also liked that she was aware of her mistakes instead of being so blindly naive. If I could give this book 10 stars I would. It has to be my favorite read of 2012 so far.

Here's the description: A girl who believes trust can be misplaced, promises are made to be broken, and loyalty is an illusion. A boy who believes truth is relative, lies can mask unbearable pain, and guilt is eternal. Will what they find in each other validate their conclusions, or disprove them all?

When Jacqueline follows her longtime boyfriend to the college of his choice, the last thing she expects is a breakup. After two weeks in shock, she wakes up to her new reality: she's single, attending a state university instead of a music conservatory, ignored by her former circle of friends, stalked by her ex's frat brother, and failing a class for the first time in her life.

Her econ professor gives her an email address for Landon, the class tutor, who shows her that she's still the same intelligent girl she's always been. As Jacqueline becomes interested in more from her tutor than a better grade, his teasing responses make the feeling seem mutual. There's just one problem--their only interactions are through email.

Meanwhile, a guy in her econ class proves his worth the first night she meets him. Nothing like her popular ex or her brainy tutor, Lucas sits on the back row, sketching in a notebook and staring at her. At a downtown club, he disappears after several dances that leave her on fire. When he asks if he can sketch her, alone in her room, she agrees--hoping for more.

Then Jacqueline discovers a withheld connection between her supportive tutor and her seductive classmate, her ex comes back into the picture, and her stalker escalates his attention by spreading rumors that they've hooked up. Suddenly appearances are everything, and knowing who to trust is anything but easy.

(Mature Young Adult/ New Adult)

Here's the link to buy signed copies of all of Tammara's books: http://tammarawebber.blogspot.com/p/signed-copies.html

I haven't read her BTL Series but if it's anything like Easy it must be amazing!

Here's Pics of my paperback copy:

Beneath where she signed it is a poem from the book and one of Lucas' tattoos. (The poem is written by Tammara Webber)
It reads:
Love is not the absence of logic
but logic examined and recalculated
heated and curved to fit
inside the contours of the heart

Seriously, if you haven't already read this then you need to drop what you're doing and read it now.

P.S. Whatever you do, don't start this at night like I did. You won't be able to sleep because you can't put this book down.

My interview with EponaReviews is up and running! Don't forget to follow the blog! (Caeden's interview is coming soon!)

It's time for another...

Peek!
I've been really busy and haven't gotten a lot of writing done. :( I'm watching my aunt's puppy while they're on vacation and let me tell you, she's a hyper, spastic, mess and driving me nuts! *sighs* My dogs are older so I'm just unused to the puppy behavior. And I have 3 dogs (which is one dog too many) and 4 is just unmanageable. Every time I turn around I have to do something for one of the dogs. I've written like 1 sentence since Friday so I'm really frustrated... and stressed.

Alright here's the peek, I know you're sick of me ranting! :)

“They’re afraid of us?” I asked.
“Yeah,” he said, “they are. They can sense that we’re a predator so they just… stay away.”
“But we’re not any different,” I choked.
Caeden put one hand beside either side of my body against the wall. “Yes, we are Sophie.” A dangerous look glinted in those cerulean blue eyes. “We’re faster, stronger, and-” his voice turned deliciously husky. “Sexier.”
His lips brushed against mine in a tantalizing gesture. “You’re definitely sexier,” I breathed.

Randomness

Yesterday I went to a book signing about an hour from me. Here's the link: http://ttpbooks.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=TTPB&Category_Code=VB
There were 8 authors there but I only knew two of them... Well, three. Nora Roberts owns the bookstore. Yes, THE Nora Roberts. So, most of the people were there for her. Except me, apparently. I went to see the AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL AWESOMELY EPIC AND OH SO NICE Jennifer L. Armentrout. I love her books so, so, so much. She's so nice and wonderful to talk to. Plus, she loved my name so she deserves bonus points for that! Teehee. If you haven't read her books yet then you need to drop what you're doing and get them. I already had 1 book (Obsidian) signed by Jennifer and the cover models Stzella and Pepe. (I didn't actually get to go to the signing which sucks because it would've been awesome to meet Pepe and Stzella) I ordered the book from here: http://www.foxtalebookshoppe.com/ I had to call while Jen, Pepe, and Stzella were in the store to have it signed by Pepe and Stzella. They might have copies but I don't know. Moving on...

Here's a pic of the one signed by Jen, Stzella, and Pepe

And here's a pic of one of her books I had signed yesterday

And Jennifer's swag that she gave away (She had a lot)

For those of you who haven't read her books the guitar pick is for her Half-Blood Series because Aiden collects them (Aiden is so wonderful)

I also got to meet Diana Peterfreund. She is really nice and very bubbly. At one point I thought she might jump out of her seat in excitement. I bought her book, For Darkness Shows the Stars, and had her sign it. I haven't read it but I think it sounds really good.

Here's a pic of the book:

I'll do another Insider update/peek soon.
