TEASER TUESDAY FIGHTER

This is unedited and subject to change in the final version. :)

“Excuse me, let us through,” he dragged me through the crowd.
“Hey bud, we were here first,” someone said and pushed Caeden.
“And that’s my brother,” Caeden pointed through the remaining crowd. I tried to peer around his body to see what he was pointing at. “Bryce!” he called. “A little help here!”
I heard Bryce’s voice reply, “Let them through.”
The crowd parted completely and I gasped. “Bryce! This is incredible!”
Bryce stepped back, covered in sand, and put his hands on his hips. Grinning he said, “See big brother? I told you I could build a life size castle.” He paused. “Well maybe not life size but you can walk in to it. I even built a couch.”
“Wow,” Caeden and I both said.
Bryce smirked. “And I seem to remember you agreeing to tell me how marvelous I am if I succeeded.” Caeden didn’t say anything so Bryce snapped, “I’m waiting.”
“You’re absolutely marvelous, Bryce. No one can build a sandcastle like you.”
“Thank you,” Bryce said before turning to the crowd. “Two bucks for a picture with the sandcastle! Five for a picture with the sandcastle and me!”
Charlotte snorted.
“What about a picture with the pretty red head?” Some college guy called out, looking Charlotte up and down. She blushed and turned away.
Bryce growled. “No pictures with my girl.”
The guy groaned but pulled out his wallet anyway.
“Are they really going to pay for pictures?” I asked Caeden.
He chuckled. “He does this every time we come to the beach and everyone always pays for a picture. I think they’re crazy.”
“Do you think he’ll make us pay?” I eyed the spectacular sandcastle. I had never seen anything like it. He had even decorated the sides in seashells and starfish.
“Sophie!” Caeden exclaimed. “You can’t be serious.”
“What?” I pointed at the castle. “It’s pretty darn cool.”
“And you have gone to the dark side.”

Wicked Fate

First off, let me say I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Wicked Fate released early so I wanted to post my review again plus purchase links. I seriously loved this book so much and I'm dying for the 2nd book.

What if you lived in fear of yourself?
For Mage McPherson being afraid of herself is just the norm. Thanks to that fear, being a loner in a small town never bothered the mysterious Mage. Once she received her secret abilities, she figured being alone was the safest way to be. That all changes during her sophomore year at Summerville High when Adam, her equally mysterious secret crush, starts to notice her.

Afraid that she might harm Adam, Mage must learn to either control or deny herself. With Adam by her side she's more powerful than she's ever been, but is she powerful enough to defeat her worst nightmare? She learns a hard lesson about love and magic when her destiny comes to collect.

My Review:

5 fantastic, completely well deserved stars!

Wow. This book was seriously amazing. It was nothing at all like I was expecting. I don't even know what I was expecting but it certainly wasn't this. Tabatha Vargo has created one of the best books I've ever read and, trust me, I've read a lot of books. Mage has to be one of my favorite heroine's of all time. She wasn't moody and indecisive every other page. She was real. Mage's inner dialogue had me laughing out loud so many times I've lost count. People were giving me strange looks but I didn't care. Part of me was torn between reading Wicked Fate super slow so that I could drag it out and another part wanted me to read it super fast because I needed to know what was going to happen next. The super fast part eventually won.

Don't even get me started on Adam.
Too late.
Adam, Adam, Adam. sighs dreamily

Adam is officially my number 1 book boyfriend. He has trampled all the other competition and come in first! He is WONDERFUL! Everyone else thinks Mage is a freak but Adam has always seen the real Mage. He's tall, gorgeous, and has the most beautiful green eyes. The sexual innuendos that come out of his mouth make me laugh and blush at the same time. But at the end of the day he's in love with Mage and will do anything for her.

And one other thing you have to look forward to, and my favorite part: The Language of Flowers. That's all I'm saying, you'll have to read it to find out what it means.

Finally, I just want to say, this book ripped out my heart and stomped all over it, but in the best way possible. It is definitely in my top 10 favorites of 2012 and my top 10 favorite books of all time! It was that good! If you have any qualms about reading Wicked Fate, I'm telling you right now, FORGET ABOUT THEM AND READ THE BOOK. I haven't felt this passionate about a book in a long time and I want to scream it for the world to hear.

prologue.

A year ago I never could have imagined this.
But that’s the thing… a lot can happen in a year.
I met my mate and fell in love.
I nearly died.
I became a wolf.
And as insignificant as it seems compared to all of that, I graduated high school.
I also got engaged to the most wonderful man.
Caeden.
I close my eyes and envision his face before me. His blue eyes, chocolate brown hair, and the adorable scruff that always covers his cheeks.
I take a deep breath and finger the white material clinging to my body.
This is it.
The day all girls dream of.
Despite the nervous butterflies flooding my tummy a smile spreads across my face.
I know that no matter what, Caeden is it for me.
He’s my mate.
My life.
My love.
My future.
My husband.

one.
This had to be some cruel, sick, joke. My jaw opened and closed and my eyes were bugged out. I knew I looked like a demented fish but I couldn’t stop my reaction.
“What?” I gasped, hoping my ears had mistook what Caeden said. He couldn’t have possibly said that, could he?
He closed his eyes and flinched as if in pain. “Travis isn’t dead.”
I jumped up from the settee. “No, no, no, no, no!
“Sophie, please sit down,” he said softly.
“I can’t sit down! Are you crazy! He’s still out there Caeden! He’s been out there for months and you didn’t tell me!” Anger bubbled up in my chest and I clenched my fists. “Why didn’t you tell me, Caeden!?”
He buried his face in his hands. “I’m ashamed.”
“Well, I’m angry!
“You have every right to be mad at me.”
“You’re damn right I do.”
He flinched. I never cussed. Ever.
“Do the others know?” I crossed my arms over my chest and stared him down.
“No,” he breathed.
I paced the room, at a loss for words. Finally I came to a decision. I stood in front of him and held out my hand. He looked up at me with a question in his eyes.
“Give me your keys,” I hissed out, opening and closing my hands in a ‘gimme’ maneuver.
“What?” His brow furrowed. “You can’t just leave!”
“I need to get out of here… I need to get away from you,” I whispered.
He flinched as if my words had cut him with a knife. I had never seen Caeden look so hurt before but I was too pissed to care.
“I need to get away from you,” I repeated, “before I do something I’ll regret.”
“Don’t leave me,” he pleaded.
“If you don’t hand me the keys right now, Caeden, so help me God, I’ll do something reckless and stupid.”
He dug around in his pocket and tossed me the keys.
“How long will you be gone?”
“As long as I need to be.”
